Chef Sheyla Alvarado at Lunario

We really the Baja Mexican Seafood restaurant near us: Loretto. The owner Chef Paco told us about a food truck we had to eat lunch at in the Valle and gave us a general idea where it was located. It is run by a group of women. When I mentioned it to our driver, he knew exactly where it was and off we went to our food truck lunch!

After, lunch it was off to various wineries to taste and buy our one bottle of wine each (major mistake should have bought cases). We were in a valle surrounded by mountains. I knew we were roughly inland from the Pacific Ocean and Ensenada famous for its lobster dinners. We have never been there. I asked our driver how hard it is to drive to Ensenada. He said it was easy just over the mountain. So he drove us out of the valle to the Pacific and Encenata. I know now that it would be also possible to stay in Encenata and day trip to Valle de Guadeloupe.

We returned to Bruma and walked around (missing the winery - other major mistake) and prepared for dinner. We had reservations at Lunario, a Michelin 1-star restaurant. This is an impossible to find restaurant. We never would have found it if we were driving. Luckly our driver knew where it was. The roads weren't marked and was well off the beaten path. The owner chef was a friend of Walter Manzke and has cooked at his restaurant (our favorite in LA) Republique. We introduced ourselves and had a wonderful meal. Miraculously to me, but not to our driver, he found his way back to Bruma.
